As a Yarn Consultant, I enjoy helping my clients expand their imagination.
One day, a client was explaining his best-selling knitted product, and he looked very happy. This was the day I decided that I would like to help our customers have fun with knitwear production. I switched my focus from selling yarns to creating the best yarns—yarns that help our clients envision a finished product even from a material swatch. My responsibility covers every type of yarn at Maruyasu.
I do my best to design yarns that respond to clients’ needs and match market trends but that you cannot find anywhere else. I know I have succeeded when my clients truly enjoy their creations.

As a Knit Consultant, I provide apparel makers’ designers with useful ideas and techniques for their knitwear designs.
When I was a merchandiser of an apparel maker, I was fascinated by the world of knitting, in which a thread of yarn can become different knitting patterns or designs. I wanted to learn more about this process. In my previous job, the brand image limited what I could do with designs. I took this job at Maruyasu so I could explore the unlimited possibilities of knitting.
All knitted goods are made from a thread. The possibilities are endless. What kind of textile should be made? What is the best yarn to use? Where is the product going to be made? I have looked at so many yarns over the years. I was involved in production in various parts of the world and learned many techniques. Any differences I encountered in technique or in sense of value became my assets and added to my base of knowledge to help answer these questions.
I give serious thought and consideration to our clients’ needs and wants. I then work closely with each client to figure out the best way to implement the design. If a client needs more assistance, I am here to show him or her what I know and to make the entire design process go smoothly.

To transform clients’ thoughts into a wonderful knitted product, I listen to our clients and schedule the production.
A too-tight schedule can result in sweaty work. I once experienced a situation in which, at the last minute, a factory informed me that delivery would be late because of machinery trouble. Although we managed to deliver on time in the end, I learned a lot from this experience. Now, I first check the situation throughout the supply chain, including yarns and factory, before I create a schedule.
I carefully listen to our clients, and I strive to develop very cooperative partnerships with our factories by sharing clients’ needs and wants. I believe that the key to a smooth production process is intensive communication; to that end, I inform interested parties of all activity along the way.
I enjoy my job. Let me work with you to create a better product!
